It’s time to get your seeds in the ground for root vegetables in North Carolina! Carrots, beets, rutabaga, turnips, radishes etc. are all excellent root vegetables that can be sewn directly into the soil in September and October. Before planting, make sure you have a nice composted soil with ample sunlight and access to a water source. Note the seed spacing requirements on your seed packet and thin your plants accordingly.
